Crunchy, decadent and oh so chocolately. Pani puri shells are associated with the iconic savoury street food but we turn that on it’s head, with something sweet! Try an easy and satisfying dessert that ticks all the boxes, with variations that are limited only by your imagination!

Ingredients

Ingredients in bold available at The Spice Emporium.

200g S.E Pani Puri Shells
250g Fresh Cream or 75g Nestle Dessert Cream
200g Bar of Chocolate, finely chopped
Fruits/Cake/Cookies of your choice.
50g Peanut Brittle Candy
20g Choc Chips

Method

  1. Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Heat the cream over medium-low heat until just simmering (do not boil). Pour the hot cream over the chocolate, making sure it is fully covered. Let it sit for 3–5 minutes, then gently stir until smooth and glossy. Let it sit in the fridge to cool down and thicken.
  2. Fry your pani puri shells in hot oil, you can use the stove or airfryer.
  3. Prepare all your elements for the dessert. Crush brittle or chop cake or fruits.
  4. With your thumb, gently poke a hole into the pani puri shells and fill with cake, cookies or fruit.
  5. Add your ganache into the shell and drizzle it over the pani puri shells.
  6. You can add any toppings you like, this recipe uses a peanut candy brittle, choc chips and ganache to tie the dessert beautifully together.

Notes

Always make the ganache beforehand as it needs to be cold.

You can use any filling that you may enjoy. You can customize this to your tastebuds. Try a chocolate and strawberry, or kunefe, a Lotus Biscoff, or caramel. The options are endless!
