Mint or pudina, as it is better known in india is known for its cooling properties world over. We’ve all seen mint milkshakes and ice creams and mint flavoured chocolates. But there’s nothing that can top a mint flavoured chaas! this chilled concoction is just the thing one needs on a hot summer afternoon. Here i have used fresh mint for a clear garden fresh taste. Some people like to add a few drops of green colour which gives this chaas a lovely green colour but i personally do not like to add it.
1 cup fresh curds (dahi)
1/4 cup chopped mint leaves (phudina)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/2 tsp green chilli paste
1/4 tsp black salt (sanchal)
salt to taste
For The Garnish
a few mint leaves (phudina)
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth and frothy.
- Add 1½ cups of chilled water and blend for another 1 minute.
- Pour equal quantities into 4 individual glasses and serve immediately garnished with mint leaves.
