No trip to Durban’s beachfront is complete without making a stop at the spicy pineapple vendor!
The friendly smiles of the vendors, the contrast between sweet and heat and the unavoidable sticky pineapple juice dripping down fingers is a fond memory shared by locals and visitors alike.
While the sweet, tangy juiciness of the pineapple is a welcome reprieve to the summer heat, the bite of the chilli reminds you that this is not your average pineapple, this is a Durban pineapple.
Relive the magic (or experience for the first time) this humble, yet iconic, snack with our take on the Durban Spicy Pineapples recipe. Using our Spice Emporium Pineapple Spice, which has cinnamon, salt and more, you’ll be reaching for pineapples, all summer long.
